Dear gang,

After much prayer and perplexity, I went to LinEL for a statement about transcripts. I tend to shy away from this sort of thing, but that has perhaps been a weakness. After hearing his words, many other things about this past period of months of talking together became clearer. I cried in gratitude for his words, as I have often done before.

Love to all,

Thea

LinEL 5/22/99

Greetings, this is LinEL. Dear one, do not despair. I hear your heart. It has always been difficult for your group that my agenda for you is not exactly as others. I am by no means the only teacher with such differences, as you know, but it does make it a challenge both for you and for others to understand the real meaning of the diversity of this mission. If you knew what all teachers are doing on this planet, you would worry less about apparent orthodoxy and focus harder on the tasks set before you in your specific groups, even while working mightily to harmonize your relationships with one another in the larger setting. One reason our groups's early history was difficult had to do with my assignment in the mission. We knew that it would be a challenge, but then, we have had many challenges. I and the rest of my staff of personal teachers, and Daranadek, who has authorized this message, state now our appreciation that you have been able to follow as well as circumstances would warrant my wishes for your progress and for your future service

I told my group, as you well remember, very early on, that you would do your work through multi-media. At the time, many of you were still vague as to what I even meant. Now, as each of you have allowed the unfoldment process to further your skills, you know far better what I mean. And within a few short years time, with our guidance, you will be doing precisely what I told you that you would do finding your place in this mission by producing multi-media presentations of manifold ways to help your planetary brothers and sisters find a closer relationship with God, and with themselves and one another. This is your task. Do not fret when it does not appear to fit in with the work of others. This is not at all the case. There will come a time when all of you in the mission understand far better than you can possibly do now that our agendas as your teachers are not homogeneous. We are as diverse as any, and our assignments are also equally diverse. We could not accomplish our work if it were not so.

Our teachings to your group have been focussed more for your needs to meet this agenda than for the dissemination that some other groups are called upon to provide. My words are in no way arcane, or irrelevant to others, but it is a fact that they are focussed specifically on my goals for the unfoldment of my assignment. It is my wish that you proceed with their transcription, and do not hesitate to edit with my guidance or the guidance of the teacher whose words they represent, but I wish to see these words transcribed as much to help better guide you to your process of forward movement than for general consumption. The reason for this is that our words will be presented within the context of the work that you are going to do. This does not mean that they need to be hidden from others, but simply that our goals for the use of our teachings in your group is different. Our teachings, like those of the other teachers, will be presented to the world, rest assured of this. You know well how important they are. But the time and manner of their presentation will be different.

Among other things, no matter how often we have tried to explain that this mission is yet in an experimental stage, humans forget that we are seeking to find the best ways for our words to reach the hearts of Urantia. My belief, a viewpoint supported as an option by my superiors, has always been that you yourselves know Urantia and the cadences of your language and concepts, in a way that all our study cannot give us. This is because your knowledge is born of your personal experience in being Urantian humans. As you know from your studies of the Urantia book, human words and concepts were used as much as possible until and unless they could not go as far as needed. It is a general rule in the universe that we utilize the already-attained understanding of those whose problems need resolution to provide answers when at all possible. We are here to guide, enhance, expand, inspire, befriend, and do everything possible to add to what you have. But one reason we come through your minds in the manner that we do is precisely to utilize your own mental flavors and concept bases. Humans are much given to the familiar. And you have that flavor in a way that we would not if we stood before you and spoke. We could have done exactly this. And as you know, we have talked much about it. But to do so, particularly initially, would not permit you yourselves to grow towards the roles that you have committed yourselves to. It is human nature to become dependant on things and personalities. You know how many times we have told you we are here to help you find the answers, not merely give you the answers ready-made. And I commend you and your group for your faithfulness to my wishes, even when it results in your feeling at odds with many. We appreciate your courage and dedication.

Rest assured that my words and those of my associates will be heard. But understand also that we teachers are not overly interested in attribution, in ownership of our words. We do not care if our names are attached to our teachings. This is a human thing of self-pride. Do not misunderstand me. At your stage of development this is acceptable and necessary, but we have no such need. I was present at some of the great debate that occurred at the time of the presentation of the Urantia book as to whether or not to use any attribution. In the end, there was both specific and general credit given, but it was not a universal agreement. It remains to be seen whether or not our teachings are more broadly acceptable under our own names as celestial beings or as more humanly accessible works. We discuss such things frequently in our joint staff meetings, and our conclusion is that only experience will tell us the answers.

Our beloved Michael and the Melchizedeks do not overly guide us in these matters, as you understand. As we try to do for you, following their example, they talk to us of concepts, and then we are left to try to come up with applications. For this is also learning time for us, and the advancement of our own experience in universe affairs. Therefore, you will find no one right way to utilize our words, and it is the deepest wish of all of us that you, as humans, attempt yet one more time to refrain from trying to set universal standards for one another as you all too often seek to do. Rather celebrate, as we do, the diverse manners in which the truth can be displayed, and understand that in order to reach all on a diverse world, one method could never be sufficient.

There are a few things, however, which are indeed universal, and form the heart of our teachings. That which is paramount is seeking relationship with the Father through sincere connection with Him in the kingdom within, and the resultant self-respect and universe understanding this engenders. This is your first and foremost duty, the same for all, and ever the heart of whatever teachings come forth. Secondly, is the fact that contact with one another in the attempt to take this experience with the Father to others by your permanent attempts to love more deeply and understand more thoroughly this will always be the most important action of human life. You know I have told you many times that love is the answer to every question, the solution to every problem. In the end, this is the message that I bring to our group, and these are the words I wish to share with the world.

Do not fret, dear one, at the reactions to diversity on Urantia. The understanding of differences is one of the things which the rebellion obscured mightily. All of your trends towards extremes fundamentalism, orthodoxy, and all manner of promotion of sameness are part of the legacy of both animal heritage, where the strange one is often literally killed, and of the rebellion that both lessened the uplift on animal biology, and prevented the cultural uplift of the garden, an incalculable loss. Stand by what you know. Difference is essential. Differential levels are about real and important differences, often experiential differences, not about a heirarchy of worth. Therefore, try to learn to glory in your differences, despite the reactions of your companions. For all of you in the mission are "different" having come to this call. Not of "special worth", but most certainly of great utility in the promotion of truth, beauty and goodness on Urantia. Use this wonderful difference you share, an understanding of Father¹s love that we have tried mightily to bring you, and will continue to help you attain, as the basis for your unity, and do not strain so much over the variations in your personal experiences with this grand experiment that will in time succeed. Learn to enjoy sharing your differences with one another for the deepening of mutual love and the enrichment of this whole vast enterprise. You have much to learn from one another as long as none believe that they have "The Way". Only our Father has the way, and Michael ever points us to his will. His will for us is abundance and joy, not pain and suffering and endless sacrifice. You will one day see that His way is actually by far the lightest path that you can follow. The difficulties are often mostly the challenges of your blighted heritage as you struggle to give up a sad dedication to your prejudices and fears. Take our hands and look at where we are pointing. The Father is your destination. And we are here to help you find your own ways to that perennia

I love my students with great tenderness born of long association, and I love all in this mission, both celestial and human, with greater regard in every moment of experience. But my love is pale in comparison to him who loves us all beyond what even we can yet believe. Trust in that, always, for it will never fail you. Farewell.

LinEL
