MEETING WITH ABRAHAM -- COMPASSION
MAY 7, 2001
WOODS CROSS GROUP

I am ABRAHAM. Greetings, my friends. I am always touched by your acts of
compassion for one another. When one is weak, the others support. When one
is sorrowful, the others are available with an open ear. When one is afraid,
the others are giving encouraging energy. What a Brotherhood, my
friends--quite beautiful to behold.

Learning about the universal laws becomes more understandable as you
experience life. You begin to understand the need for them and have
gratitude for this universal fairness and watch-care. Universal laws endow
us with power to use for good or bad. We are partakers of time and doers in
destiny. What we do and how we live really does matter, and has an impact on
universal wellness.

We are going to leave the subject of universal laws for a time and move on
to other issues. Be watchful in your experience for other universal laws to
reveal themselves. All our lessons are intertwined and used in the best
manner to teach the varying groups. I find it helpful at this time to say a
few words on compassion.

How beautiful it is to behold individuals helping one another, upholding and
supporting, yes. It is wonderful to see that your level of compassion is the
measure in which you receive compassion back. To be truly compassionate we
must stand in our brothers shoes. We must look through their eyes. We must
find a heart connection.

The compassionate soul longs to create lasting solutions for their brothers
and sisters in need. To perform compassionate acts for the sake of being
guilt-free because your fellows are in need is misunderstanding. To be
compassionate because you feel pity upon your fellows is also not quite
right.

Compassion is a heart and soul connection that says 'I am feeling what you
are feeling. I see you could use some help.' Compassion asks you not to
sacrifice begrudgingly, but happens naturally without hesitation. Most of
the time most people only wish to be listened to and understood--not pitied
or pressured into various solutions, but just to feel that they are not
alone.

You in the Teaching Mission have great opportunity to allow Father to show
Himself through you. You have opportunity to minister to your fellows now in
a manner that you could not do before. The transmitting \ receiving process
is becoming common, and instantly the compassionate person can put forth
Father's words to aid in any given situation. The compassionate person
listens without underlying agenda's or intentions.

The compassionate person is not tempted to bestow their wisdom to have
others look upon them with awe. True compassion is feeling that you truly
want to help without anything in return. It is wanting to help because of
your expanding love for Father. The compassionate person inevitably grows
closer to Father because of their pure intentions to be open to His words to
help their fellows.

You can be encouraging and uplifting in your compassionate ministry without
showing forth pity and dis-empowering individuals to feel unconfident and
hopeless. You can validate their difficulties by relating to them your
personal experience. If you have not personal experience to draw upon, then
certainly can you at the very least show you are interested in what they are
saying.

In your desire to want to help without personal recognition will you be
connected to Father's words, His instructions for your fellows, His mind.
That is ministry, my friends. That is active ministry. A few questions.

CALVIN: Abraham, in the beginning you said that universal laws endow us with
power to use for good and bad. It was my understanding that maybe the
universe would withdraw if our intentions were not for the good. Could you
say what you mean on that?
ABRAHAM: Certainly. Why even Lucifer himself had access to these universal
laws, and through the promotion of himself, he could benefit from the
innocent by the manipulation of these laws. Father has bestowed us with free
will and has given to us heaven and earth. Those that use spiritual power
for the benefit of all will receive more power--with more power, more
responsibilities, more assignments. This is of your choosing, of course,
yes, but even Father did not interfere in Lucifer's reign of self-assertion.
All played out naturally and that experience was even valuable. Is this
answering? (Yes. Thank you.)

SANDY: Abraham, I want to thank you for the lessons. They have been
extremely challenging, and yet very helpful this week. I am very grateful
for them. I also thank you for working with me this past week and wanted to
ask you if there is any further clarifications that I might need--in
particularly on some issue of trying to maintain my balance--that my right
brain seems to my intuition gets so trampled on by my left. I have been able
to expand it, and as I said to you, there is an issue of expanding my trust
and faith and it seems to grow that side. I was wondering if there is any
connection here or more information on that to be helpful to me in
maintaining that balance with myself?

ABRAHAM: Yes, certainly. I am also grateful to you for your service and
upholding the Mission. Well done, my daughter. I am understanding you to
have some misunderstanding of life issues that have brought you a bit of
resentment or anger. Until these issues are reconciled your balance will be
difficult to maintain. Nothing to fear though, my dear, everything to gain,
yes. You are one who is for the most part honest with self and can easily
move back to a centered position. In confronting these issues you can become
more of what you truly desired. Your Father connection is good and getting
better every day. Is this helping? (Yes. Thank you, Abraham.)

An assessment before we are out of time for Harrision: I see you are quite
active in all aspects of living. I have not much new to report. You are
going forth on faith and I would only suggest that you become more balanced
with humor and play. Reversion activities are refreshment to the mind and
soul. Do those things that you love to do, but do not make the time for.
They do not necessarily have to be spiritual in nature, no. You are at a
time in life where it is acceptable to enjoy life, because you have well
rounded understanding of it. Is this helping my son?

HARRISON: Yes Abraham. Thank you very much. I would ask one short question.
In my travels sometimes I will stop and spend the night at a place where I
will have bad dreams. I feel like I need to get up and leave. I have done
that on a couple occasions. My question is should I stay and just let
Father's light shine and face that fear whatever it is and not go running
off, or should I move on?

ABRAHAM: One moment. I am told these dreams are based on the stress of the
day and not to worry or fear. You are in no danger of being in an evil
presence. Know that these are easily overcome with doing an activity that
grounds you back into your everyday foundation. Do those things that you
usually do--read a book, converse with your wife, take a shower, watch TV.
These things are grounding and bringing you back to your foundation of the
intellectual, spiritual and physical. Another question?

MIRIAM: Abraham, you gave us the assignment to hang out with you this week
and journal--I am more comfortable with what you were describing as being in
the flow with my fellows. I was just wondering if you could help me with
some feedback on the two sessions, the one with you and the one with our
mutual friend. Were those on target? It is easier for me to get out of the
way when I am sharing with people than the TR journaling. So could you give
me some feedback?

ABRAHAM: Yes. In my request last week to meet with me through journaling was
only practice for this weeks lesson. It is an exercise in which you put
forth almost a forced concentration. You really don't know what to expect.
With ministering to your fellows in acts of compassion your heart is opened
and instantly are you connected to the divine circuits naturally, without
force, without pressure. You are desiring to help another and always do you
look to the First Source and Center before looking within your own reserves
of wisdom. You are correct that in conversing the method transmitting \
receiving is easier and more natural for most people. Is this helping?(Yes,
but if I could get a little more specific. In the journaling process the
pressure--some of the guidance I got was about mind chatter. Not to worry in
that I am connected like in a deep reservoir and draw from it naturally.
This mind chatter has been concerning me for a while. Can you get a question
out of that?) My suggestion would be to have no expectations or interject
any intentions. You cannot force something into that which is already full.
I do understand the mindal chatter, and most of the time not until people
are in dire need do they really listen for Father's words. You need not be
in dire need or put undo pressure upon yourself to stop this chatter, but
expect nothing and be as the Master when He would each day spend a few
moments with His Father. Is this helping? (I guess I will just have to wait.
This is the first time I've ever just wanted when you tell me something and
I still keep having questions. I guess we could go all night. You're getting
tired. I guess I will just hang out with it. Thank you.) Certainly.

I am slipping. All questions are answered in due time, and if you are
asking, then most definitely expect an answer. You each do well and I am in
gratitude to the compassion and friendship you have shown me. My love goes
with you. Until next week, shalom.
