LIGHT AND LIFE VISION |
MEMORIES OF MAHARISHI
THE THREE MAHARISHIS
Deepak Chopra
February 6th, 2008
Even though I last sat with Maharishi more than ten
years ago, he left an
indelible impression, as he did on everyone. His
extraordinary qualities are
known to the world. Without him, it's fair to say, the
West would not have
learned to meditate. During the Cold War era a reporter
once challenged him
by saying, "If anything is possible, as you claim, can
you go to the Soviet
Union tomorrow with your message?" Without hesitation,
Maharishi calmly
replied, "I could if I wanted to." Eventually he did
want to, and meditation
arrived in Moscow several years before the Berlin Wall
fell. In his belief
that world peace depended entirely on rising
consciousness, Maharishi was
unshakable.
The Bhagavad-Gita declares that there are no outward
signs of enlightenment.
The point is underscored in many Indian fables and
scriptures, which often
take the form of a high-caste worthy snubbing an
untouchable, only to find
that the untouchable was actually a god in disguise. For
his part, Maharishi
had three guises, and perhaps in the end they were also
disguises.
He was an Indian, a guru, and a personality. The
personality was highly
quixotic. Over the fifty years of his public life,
Maharishi never lost his
charm and lovability. He had these qualities to such an
extent that
Westerners took him to be a perfect example of how
enlightenment looks --
kind, sociable, all-accepting, and light-hearted -- when
that is far from
the case. His presence was more mysterious than good
humor can account for:
you could feel it before entering a room. You could be
walking down the
hallway to his private apartments with the weight of the
world on your
shoulders and feel your worries drop away with every
step, until by the time
your hand touched the doorknob, by some magic you felt
completely carefree.
But if you were around him long enough, the older
Maharishi in particular
could be nettlesome and self-centered; he could get
angry and dismissive. He
was quick to assert his authority and yet could turn
disarmingly child-like
in the blink of an eye.
The Maharishi who was an Indian felt most comfortable
around other Indians,
with whom he chatted about familiar things in Hindi. He
adhered to the vows
of poverty and celibacy that belonged to his order of
monks, despite the
fact that he lived in luxury and amassed considerable
wealth for the TM
movement. What gets overlooked is that he viewed wealth
as a means to raise
the prestige of India in the materialistic West, which
was both canny and
realistic of him. In the end the movement's money went
to preserve the
spiritual heritage of India by opening pundit schools
and building temples.
Maharishi was deeply concerned that he might be the last
embodiment of a
sacred tradition that was quickly being overwhelmed by
modernization.
In one way or another, for good or ill, these two
Maharishis are the only
ones that the outside world knew. If you came under the
power of his
consciousness, however, Maharishi the guru completely
overshadowed every
other aspect. It's shameful to say, but gurus are a dime
a dozen in India
and are often treated like retainers by the rich and
powerful. Nothing could
be farther from the truth in Maharishi's case. He was
venerated by the
venerable and considered holy by the holy. His capacity
to explain Vedanta
was unrivaled, and if he accomplished nothing else in
his long life, his
commentary on the Bhagavad-Gita insures his lasting
name, because with acute
analysis he cuts through to the heart of every verse.
Imagine that someone
arose in the West who definitively settled all the
disputes over the New
testament and went on to exemplify the nature of Jesus.
Then you might get
some idea of Maharishi's impact as a guru.
Around 1990 I was commissioned to write a book about
him; it turned out to
be the only assignment I could never complete. Even
after spending hundreds
of days in his presence, one could not capture him,
either on paper or in
one's mind. The Gita is right to say that there are no
visible signs of
enlightenment, but I would go further. The enlightened
person ceases to be a
person and attains a connection to pure consciousness
that erases all
boundaries. My deepest gratitude goes to Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi for showing
me that this state of unity exists outside folk tales,
temples, organized
religion, and scripture itself. To live and breathe in
unity consciousness
is unfathomable, but in at least one case, I am sure it
is real.

THE GIGGLING GURU
By Gotham Chopra
February 06, 2008
One of the more interesting parts of "growing up
Chopra," was the range of
people my sister and I were exposed to -- from
celebrities to heads of state
to Nobel laureates and all the rest. As a teenager
growing up in Boston, the
emotional response to these experiences ranged from
titillation (Madonna) to
indifference (Elizabeth Taylor), to total fascination
(Michael Jackson). But
the most memorable was the little Indian Guru that over
the years became a
symbol of something very primordial to my whole family.
I remember the first time my parents dragged my sister
and I to meet
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is some rural outpost in India
outside of New Delhi. I
was about 11 years old and I hated them for it. "Drag"
is the literal case
here because it was 1986 and the Boston Celtics (my
boyhood favorite team)
were on the run to the NBA Championship. Alas my parents
decided that we
needed to travel to the old country to see our
grandparents and visit the
ashram of some old Beatles Guru that they had become
enamored with. This
caused considerable family friction: if Larry Bird was
my Luke Skywalker,
the dude known as Maharishi had literally just become my
Darth Vadar.
In those days, India was not the bustling land of plenty
and opportunity it
is today. Getting to India in the first place was a hell
of an ordeal.
Getting to Noida where Maharishi's ashram was involved
taking a convoy out
to what appeared to be the sticks. The upshot was that
almost since my
father's first encounter with Maharishi, he had been
mysteriously seemingly
anointed "the chosen one" by the "movement" that
surrounded the Guru and
hence we were treated with an overt sense of deference
and importance. In
India this meant getting an escort of Maruti cars from
Delhi to Noida almost
upon landing at the airport in the middle of the night.
That was just the beginning of the mysterious journey.
Once we we arrived in
the ashram, a quiet compound awash with candlelight and
the fragrance of
fresh flowers, we were sequestered to a room where we
waited, and waited,
and waited. It was truly an exercise in patience and
endurance, to wait for
hour on end in pursuit of an encounter that meant
nothing to me.
Finally, about 9 hours in, I was handed an ice cream
cone by one of the
movement handlers and we were escorted into a massive
auditorium where a few
thousand people seemed to be seated. At the head, atop
an flower covered
pedestal sat the diminutive Maharishi. As the VIPS that
we were, we were
ushered to the front row and seated in full view of "his
holiness." He
seemed to be midstream on a long dissertation about the
meaning of life
which to my 11 year old brain, really didn't register as
highly important.
He didn't as much as blink upon our entrance, take an
extra breath or make
an aside glance to acknowledge our presence. He just
droned on.
But then, a moment later, he stopped. And he stared down
at the four of us,
my parents, sister, and I. It was as if he had stopped
mid-sentence,
mid-thought even. And he just stared at me. And pointed
at me. Despite my 11
year old hubris, I was shrewd enough to know that this
was a big deal and
all of a sudden the glare of the spotlight burned right
through me.
Maharishi paused and spoke into his microphone, "come
here, you can?"
I stared at my father unsure what to do. "Go, go..." He
urged.
I gestured to my older sister Mallika to come with me
and she just shook her
head. "Go dummy," she whispered.
So with the hushed glared of a thousand eyes on my back
I staggered forward
awkwardly.
After a seeming eternity, I stood in front of the great
Maharishi. I knew
from the Indian comic books that I collected that you
were supposed to bow
down and touch the feet in a show of respect to these
old Sadhus. Not sure
what else to do, I started to get down to my knees,
balancing my ice cream
cone in my hands.
Maharishi laughed and reached out and stopped me.
"No...no...no..." he
giggled. "Americans do not bow down at the feet of
anyone," he said.
I stared at him awkwardly not sure how to respond,
holding my ice cream cone
tenuously. "Um, I'm not really American..." I divulged
the great discomfort
of my upbringing as the son of a an immigrant raised in
America, the only
brown Celtics fan I really knew.
"Indian?" Maharishi giggled back at me.
"Not really..." the flip side of my identity conflict
was now out in the
open for everyone to see.
Maharishi nodded slowly. I looked in his eyes. There was
a gentleness to
them, something very comfortable that put you at ease.
"Then what are you?" He inquired.
"Um..." I stammered. "Um, I don't know. I guess I
am...I'm just uh. I guess
I just am...?"
And he started to laugh again, this sweet innocent
infectious laugh.
"All these years," he started to speak. "I have
meditated and studied," he
giggled even louder, "to come upon this revelation that
you already know!"
"We just are!" He put his hand on my head. "You are a
very wise boy just
like your name Gautama."
He then grinned, the same way I see my little baby son
grin in the morning
now when we wake up together over 20 years later from
that moment. "Now,
will you share your ice cream with me?!"
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi will be remembered as one of the
great modern teachers
and yogis of this era, a true Guru in every sense of the
word for the
millions of lives that he touched. His wisdom will be
missed but surely
leave a legacy for generations to come. That's all nice
and good, but to me,
he'll always be the sweet old man, with the sweet old
giggle, that gave me a
special moment when I least expected it and with whom I
shared my ice cream.
And btw, he loved chocolate ice cream just like me.

GROWING UP WITH MAHARISHI MAHESH YOGI
By Mallika Chopra
February 06, 2008
I learned transcendental meditation when I was 9. I
think I met Maharishi
Mahesh Yogi for the first time when I was 13, and for
the next decade he was
a major influence in my life. I remember sitting for
endless hours with
Maharishi -- sometimes in crowds of thousands of people,
others times just
with my parents and brother. Because of my father¹s
(Deepak Chopra)
relationship with him, Maharishi was someone we knew,
rather than someone we
idolized.
When you were with Maharishi, it truly was like time did
not exist. There
was a sense of connection to something deeper. Maharishi
was a visionary. He
always spoke in grand, universal, mythic terms. Numbers
were always
infinite, possibilities endless, nothing too difficult
to accomplish. He
would talk about changing the world in sweeping terms,
and then suddenly,
focus on some minute detail. Since people from so many
walks of life came to
Maharishi, those endless hours were full of individuals
who did different
things, who came from every corner of the earth.
Maharishi spoke a universal
language that resonated with all of them. His language
touched people¹s
souls. You could tune in and out of what he said, and
still feel like you
were experiencing something truly monumental.
As a young girl, I did not understand most of what was
talked about, but I
wanted to be there. I felt inspired, energetic,
motivated and at peace. When
we left him, I would run and shyly give him a rose, and
he would give me a
smile that always made me laugh.
Maharashi would talk with his sweet voice and then
giggle a giggle that
then erupted into a wave of laughter that tickled those
in his presence at
their very souls. I will always remember the laughter
around Maharishi.
Around him, I felt happy and free and timeless. Even
though I was shy, I
could laugh with abandon a laughter that was so
uplifting.
I remember very clearly the evening my mother called me
to tell me that she
and my father had left Maharishi for good. I was a
senior at Brown
University, and to me it was quite devastating because
his presence had, in
many ways, formed my identity. But, upon reflection, it
was the natural step
in a mythical relationship between a guru (Maharishi)
and his disciple (my
father). The comic books that my brother and I had read
growing up had the
same theme over and over again. At some time, the guru
says good-bye, and
the disciple moves on.
That evening, I went and got a red rose and headed to
the local TM Center in
Providence. The people there had always welcomed me as a
daughter, and it
had proved to be a quiet haven for me throughout
college. I sat in the
meditation room, the rose in my hand, and meditated for
over an hour. When I
came out of my meditation, I felt a tremendous sense of
strength and peace.
I realized in that moment the wonderful gift that
Maharishi had given me
the ability to connect to myself, to love myself, to
laugh and feel
connected to something universal.
Yesterday, when my father called to say that Maharishi
had left, I felt that
peace again. It has been more than 10 years since I last
saw him, but his
gift is still with me. When my father taught my elder
daughter to meditate
last summer, Maharishi¹s gift was passed on to her.
Today, I plan to spread rose petals around my house with
my two little
girls. To honor Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, we will meditate
and cuddle and play.
And, most importantly, we will smile and laugh and
celebrate.

Stillness: Purpose and Practice
Created by The Stillness
Foundation
The purpose of the Stillness is to
achieve attunement with the indwelling
presence of God. Stillness is a process and not the
achievement of
attunement itself. Attunement is an alignment with the
will of God and a
door to peaceful inner living while strengthening one's
inner resolve to
overcome life difficulties with optimism. Obtaining
alignment within the
presence and will of God is not done without some effort
to coordinate the
intellectual self with the spiritual self. Constant
practice of 10 or 15
minutes is recommended on a daily basis to establish the
habit.
Stillness is any time you spend
with God. However, it may be perceived only
as the one phase perhaps best recognized as "silent
listening." Many people
may wish to spend time with God in stillness, but they
really don't know
how or where to begin. To help you get started,
Stillness is explained in a
seven steps process. While these steps are not
necessary, they can be very
helpful in getting you focused on building your
relationship with God and
to incorporate Stillness into your daily routine. With
regular practice,
relaxing and stilling your mind can be achieved very
quickly.
Practice: The Seven Steps of
Stillness:
STEP 1: Physical
Relaxation. Being physically relaxed is very important.
If
you are not, discomfort and/or pain will
disturb your Stillness. Select a quiet room where you
will not be
disturbed. Ensure that you won't feel cold. We
recommend sitting, feet flat on the floor, legs
uncrossed, and arms and
hands draped comfortably on the arms of a chair
or on your lap. Take several deep breaths and release
them slowly. Let your
body thoroughly unwind. Close your eyes. If
you are properly relaxed, you should only be aware of
your breathing, your
heartbeat and your thoughts.
STEP 2: Mental Stillness.
This step may be the most difficult. The mind is
naturally active. Thoughts about the worries of the day,
making plans for
tomorrow, even fears and anxieties can all come rushing
in. You must tell
your mind to "be still!" Tell it you want to spend some
time in the company
of God and that you will get back to these other
thoughts later. Take
control of your mind. Don't focus on any of these
thoughts. Let them go or
tell them to leave for now. If they recur say, "be
still," and take another
deep breath. When your mind is still, direct it toward
the spirit of God
within you. Now you are ready to begin your dialogue
with God.
STEP 3: Dialogue with God.
God is the best friend, wisest counselor, and
most loving parent you can ever have. Imagine you are in
God's company and
begin to talk about the day. Share the good and not so
good experiences
with Him. Tell Him about experiences or behavior you
don't understand.
Share some of the good times even if they were just
brief moments when
someone smiled at you or was kind to you. Just as you
would share your day
with a spouse or a close companion, share it with God.
You do the talking
(silently, of course); God is doing the listening.
STEP 4: Prayer. As you
think about your dialogue with God and share your
experiences of the day with Him, you should get plenty
of food for prayer.
When you see someone who is troubled, confused, feeling
unhappy or unloved,
ask yourself what they need. Then, pray that it will be
given to them. When
you see someone who lacks insight into a situation,
whether it is their own
or another's behavior, pray they be given understanding.
Everyone needs
help, and so everyone needs prayer. Forget the lotto
numbers and miraculous
cures and focus on what will heal their soul, what will
lead them to God.
As you pray for them, picture them in your mind
surrounded by light and love.
STEP 5: Worship. Unlike
prayer, worship asks for nothing in return. Worship
is simply giving thanks and even praise to God for all
the good in our
lives. Many people think their life is not very good
because they only
focus on the material/physical level of existence. Look
beyond these and
focus on a moment in your life when you were thankful to
someone for
helping you or someone was very thankful to you for
helping them. While
focusing on the feeling of thankfulness, realize that
all the good in your
life comes from God. Thank Him for the positive things
in your life, for
life itself. Know that in time the struggle of this life
will pass and you
will move on to live in a universe dominated by truth,
beauty and goodness.
STEP 6: Silent Listening.
Now listen to God, focus on the inner voice. You
will not hear a booming voice telling you what to do. We
all wish it were
that easy. Find the mental stillness. Sense that God is
trying to talk to
you but from afar and so His message will be subtly and
faintly perceived.
You may not think you have received anything at this
time. But later,
tomorrow, or in a few days as you are going about your
activities, suddenly
an answer will flash into your mind. Or, someone may say
the words you need
to hear or you might read them in a book. It takes a
while sometimes for
God's message to get through the static layers of
consciousness of our
minds. But rest assured, He will answer you.
STEP 7: The Embrace.
Conclude your Stillness session by basking in the
presence and love of God. You don't have to say or do
anything. See
yourself in the most beautiful and loving situation you
have ever
experienced or imagined. Realize that God is the creator
of this loving
feeling and your destiny is to live in that love
forever. Let God's love
wash away your fear and troubles. See yourself happy,
smiling and full of
love for yourself and others. If you wish, you can
conclude your Stillness
session by saying a prayer or silently singing your
favorite song of love
within your mind. As you do, realize God is the source
of all true love. He
is the love of your life.
A
Fable of Planetary Transformation
Crafted
by the Transformation Team
Once upon a time in a far away corner of the universe in
the outer reaches of a medium-sized spiral galaxy, there
was a beautiful blue-green planet whose inquisitive
inhabitants named their world Earth. Many different
peoples inhabited this planet teeming with abundant
lifeforms. They had come to learn the many difficult, yet
rewarding lessons of exploring in physical bodies what it
is like to feel separate and disconnected from their own
divine essence and from all around them.
The collective consciousness of all people on
Earth greatly affected everything that happened on
this revolving planet. Yet because of their explorations
into separateness, the vast majority of these people – or
humans as they called themselves – were unaware of how
their collective will formed their world. In order to
learn the deep wisdom of this Earth school or Univers-city,
these humans had chosen to forget how in their deepest
essence they were all interconnected and how every
individual played an essential role in what happened on
their planet and to their people as a whole.
Over the ages and through thousands upon thousands of
revolutions of this jewel of a planet around its shining
golden sun, the people of
Earth explored, developed, and expanded their
awareness through many rich, beautiful, and sometimes even
painful experiences. Through the rich drama and
challenging lessons of many ages and lifetimes, they
several times grew close to the point of feeling again
their deep interconnectedness with all beings. Yet each
time they came close, that awareness then contracted and
was eventually shut down by their collective fear of
losing individuality and uniqueness.
After several cycles of this expansion and contraction, at
one point in a new expansion phase, the collective mind
grew so intelligent as to permit humankind for the first
time to soar beyond the gravitational confines of
Earth in shiny, metallic spaceships. The collective
knowledge of the physical world in which they lived grew
so deep that certain individuals began to see visions of a
major transformation leading to physical paradise on
Earth. At the same time, many others greatly feared that
these new mental abilities and sophisticated technologies
would be used by the militaries and greedy elite to
destroy the very life and world in which they lived.
As
their collective hopes and fears grew like never before,
many humans dedicated to global transformation joined
together in a deep prayer about their lives and world. So
for the first time in the planet's history, a powerful
collective call was sent out to the universe requesting
help and guidance for the struggling planet and its people
to move beyond separation, selfishness, and greed towards
loving, empowering transformation and integration. For the
first time, humanity as a whole opened to connection and
help from the great universe beyond the physical confines
of their world.
Their prayer was heard.
In
the vast and varied collection of civilizations and
species spread throughout the infinite universe, the call
for help from this small, beautiful planet was heard.
Unbeknownst to the people of
Earth, there existed in the universe a special team
made up of millions of caring souls from various planets,
galaxies, and even dimensions. This loving team had
dedicated themselves specifically to serve and support the
inhabitants of developing planets who requested help in
times of crisis and transition.
The vibrant souls of this intergalactic transformation
team were committed to work together with the local
transformation team of any planet that called for help in
creating more nurturing, life-enhancing ways of living and
growing. This loving team was activated by the collective
call from
Earth.
Feeling the call for help almost like a fireman on
Earth responding to an alarm, the excited souls of
the transformation team came together to focus their
attention on this beautiful world in crisis. They opened
their hearts and souls to the people there. They learned
of the ways of humankind and became familiar with the
challenges the people of
Earth found themselves facing. While some agreed to
observe and provide guidance from a distance, millions of
these souls agreed to be born in human bodies and – like
other humans – to forget where they came from, so that
they might fully experience being human and more
effectively provide help and guidance to humankind.
Being born into human bodies and human families without
memory of their origin, almost all of these transformation
team members felt the many pains and joys of growing up
while often feeling separate and isolated from those
around them. Some even chose to go through serious traumas
with their human families in order to develop deeper
compassion. Others simply felt alone and bewildered,
unable to comprehend why those around them couldn't see
that love interconnects us all. At times, all of them felt
they didn't belong and sensed an inner calling to some
greater purpose.
As
these dedicated transformation team members grew
spiritually and the crisis facing the planet intensified,
magical things began to happen. Key writings, dreams,
mystical experiences, and even inspiring fables began to
awaken members of the transformation team to their deeper
purpose.
For some the awakening was gradual, while for others a
powerful, unexpected single event lifted the veil.
Collectively, members of the transformation team began to
remember why they came to
Earth. They found themselves spontaneously
connecting with other wise humans who were part of the
transformation team and who further helped to awaken and
inspire them. Their fears and feeling of separation
gradually faded as they became increasingly excited to
remember their deeper purpose, and to find themselves now
playing an integral role in this empowering planetary
transition.
Eventually, all members of the transformation team awoke.
Upon awakening, a new, bright sparkle danced from their
eyes. It was a sparkle of knowingness. Knowing that all of
us are already interconnected in a divine cosmic dance.
Knowing that the joy of love is always there inside when
any soul truly opens to it. Knowing that the team's
purpose is not to save anyone, but rather to simply be a
loving invitation and inspiration to all around them.
Knowing that uniqueness and individuality are welcome even
in the interconnectedness of all beings. Knowing that when
the people of a planet send out a collective call for
help, the transformation team always answers. Knowing that
the team never fails to give powerful, inspiring guidance
to help make it through even the most daunting crisis.
Once upon a time, the transformation team came to
Earth to remind humankind – and even to remind
themselves – that we are not alone, that we are all
equally important actors intimately interconnected in the
divine unfolding of the universe. The team came to remind
us that fear is but an invitation to growth, and that in
the end, there is no end. There is only this sacred moment
in which to open to all the richness that we are ready to
receive. There is only the eternal here and now.
And so to bring this transformation fable to a close (or
is it an opening?), the transformation team found and
continues to find ever more joyful, meaningful ways to
love, explore, play, and grow together with all people of
Earth, as they live happily ever after in the ever
present here and now.

Fiscal woes threaten school garden program
By Julia Scott, STAFF WRITER
Article Last Updated: 01/28/2008 04:15:55 PM PST
HALF MOON BAY — A model gardening and nutrition program for
Coastside
elementary school students is in serious financial peril and may have
seen its last season, according to program officials.
The Healthy Eating Active Living project, founded at Alvin S. Hatch
Elementary School in 2005 with a Kaiser Permanente grant, spread to
three other Coastside elementary schools this year, but won't be able to
sustain its current funding level and will likely be forced to make
drastic cutbacks next year, said program director Lisa Hellerich.
That's bad news for the 650 third- and fourth-graders who have enjoyed
learning how to plant, harvest and cook their own vegetables this year
in their own schoolyard gardens. They've grown used to the fun games and
organized sports they now play at recess, which help them stay fit.
Hellerich says the gardens, the instructors, the materials andher own
position are all likely to disappear come September unless the HEAL
program can find some grant money — and fast.
Some of the newly founded school garden sites may not even make it
through this academic year, said Hellerich. This includes Farallone View
Elementary, whose program started in November, and El Granada
Elementary, whose program started just this week.
Part of the problem is that the HEAL program only managed to raise
$100,000 of the $115,000 it needed this year for its expansion (the
final school, Kings Mountain Elementary in
Woodside, is due to start
its project in the next two weeks). The biggest problem is that the
program has only managed to secure a commitment of $21,000 so far for
next year, from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation. Many previous
grantors, such as Kaiser Permanente, are expected to commit less money
than in previous years. And several other local sources of income are
drying up.
"The city can't help us, the school can't help us, and the small
organizations that are out here certainly can't pick up a $100,000 tab,"
said Hellerich, adding that she had already been turned down for $40,000
worth of grants.
Hatch Elementary managed to give $7,500 this year and the school's
parent-teacher organization raised an additional $10,000, said
Hellerich. But major upcoming state education budget cuts may force both
groups to reassess their priorities in the coming year. Kaiser donated
$50,000 for this year but has been hoping the program would be able to
stand "on our own two feet, rather than on them," said Hellerich.
"The future of the program is the biggest question mark right now. I
think we'll get the program through the end of the year, but we're
already cutting a lot, such as the events that should bring the parents
in and send the message home. They're not getting a chance to see how
great this program is, so I don't know if they'll be able to pay for
it," she said.
Hatch Elementary was the first in the county to take the innovative step
of combining fitness, nutrition, and hands-on environmental science
learning with the installation of its backyard garden. Students hold
dinner events where they cook for their parents and perform what they've
learned. Parents are encouraged to attend special nutrition classes to
help guide them on healthy things to cook at home. The classes are held
in Spanish and English, targeting the school's sizable population of
Hispanic families — a group known to be at greater risk of health
complications due to poor nutrition or inactivity, according to
studies.
Local parent Sandra Andreini says the HEAL project has already changed
her son Nico's outlook on food. Nico is in the third grade at Hatch
Elementary. As president of the PTO, Andreini has helped raise thousands
of dollars for the program.
"He comes home one day and says, 'Mom, you cannot buy that cake that
comes in boxes anymore. Miss Kim told us it has all that stuff in it.'
And he started telling us about preservatives," she recalled with a
laugh.
"We eat pretty healthy, but there a lot of families here and everywhere
that don't. I think the awareness thing has been huge," she added.
Just last week, Hellerich said, the students harvested and feasted on a
winter crop of cabbage, bok choi and mustard greens.
"It's surprising to many people, but I think the reason this is so
effective is the kids are out in the garden being involved in growing
the food, harvesting it and preparing it," she said. "We've seen time
and again kids who weren't about to touch anything that was green,
eating things they helped produce."
Wherever else she may try to look for money, Hellerich won't be turning
to the Cabrillo Unified School District. Newly appointed Superintendent
Rob Gaskill said he was "wowed" by the HEAL project and could very
easily see it becoming just as popular at the secondary school level.
Unfortunately, the school district is going through its own budget
throes and can't spare a cent.
"Virtually nearly every segment of school programming will be affected
(next year)," said Gaskill. "We're going to be lucky to hold onto our
core academic programs, let alone take on more programs, as exciting as
they might be."

Visions of an Intergalactic Society ... As A Reality Right
Now!
L&L
acknowledges the search for ET's and interplanetary activity
as one of the greatest explorations of this age, with many
related questions of how otherworldly contact will affect
our spiritual lives. Dr. Richard Boylan now today lives in a
world populated by various Extraterrestrials, including
champions in humankind's fight against its own evil Dark
Cabal. Here is Richard's State of the Cosmos address going
into 2008.
January 28, 2008
Open Letter To the UFO Community and Other Concerned Citizens
Fellow citizens of Earth,
In sharing with you this critically important letter, I am
reminded of the
opening words of Charles Dickens’s classic A Tale of Two
Cities: "It was
the best of times, it was the worst of times."
This letter brings you news of great hope for Earth. Yet it
also contains
sobering and disquieting revelations. Both the good news and
the bad news
are important for you to have.
This Open Letter will address five subjects: 1) Star Nations
and the
Councillor of Earth; 2) the Mission of the12 Scientists From
Altimar Coming
To Earth This Year; 3) the Cabal’s (global cartel of the
ultra-rich and
powerful) Plans To Demonize Visiting Star Persons; 4) the
Cabal’s Secret
Antigravity Fleet And Star Wars Weaponry; and 5) the monograph
Freefall To
Fascism’s Revelations About Cabal Plans For Global Martial
Law.
Because all of the events described here are expected to occur
in 2008, you
need this information now as a responsible citizen equipped to
take part in
shaping your future.
Star Nations And the Councillor of/for Earth
Star Nations is the federation of intelligent civilizations of
space. When
they are in contact with a planet with intelligent life which
has developed
to a point of readiness for cosmic contact, Star Nations
appoints an
individual from that planet to represent that planet on Star
Nations’
governing body, its High Council. That representative is
called a Councillor.
Star Nations watched the development of intelligent Humans for
over a
quarter of a million years. After the violent internal
collapse of previous
civilizations here, some remembered as Atlantis and Lemuria (Mu),
Star
Nations authorized a fresh attempt to assist this contemporary
Human
civilization, now facing our present critical time of
transition.
A member of High Council volunteered to incarnate as a Human
and to grow up
to full maturity about the time that Human society was
reaching this
critical threshold. That threshold is our current
make-or-break point:
where either Human society will make it to a higher spiritual
functioning
level of operating peacefully, with social justice, and with
responsible
environmental stewardship; or will "crash and burn" back to a
Hunter-Gatherer level, with considerable loss of life.
Because that Councillor incarnated as a Human was not
immediately evident
in his Human form, Star Nations sent down Councillor Asheoma
to find him.
Asheoma knew that the criteria were that the incarnated
Councillor be
absolutely Human, not just a thinly-disguised Star Being.
Further, this
incarnated Councillor had to be of advanced spiritual,
metaphysical,
intellectual, and consciousness development, since the
original Star Being
Councillor’s personal qualities were such. Asheoma spent many
years
searching and in late February, 2005 found him. Asheoma
approached the
Human-incarnate and asked him if he was willing to accept
appointment as
Councillor of/for Earth. I consented.
In making the identification, Asheoma had taken note of my
longtime
activities to educate people about Star Visitors, and about
Humans’ close
encounters with these Visitors, and about the more advanced
Star Seeds and
Star Kids now emerging in the population. He noted my website
and books, my
educational talks and Star Kid/Star Seed Workshops, my
building on-line
informational and communication networks, including UFOFacts,
DrRichBoylanReports , and the StarKidsHangout, and starting
the educational
non-profits, the Academy of Clinical Close Encounter
Therapists, Inc
(ACCET), and the Star Kids Project, Ltd.
(Star Nations has used the almost-1500- member global
community of the
on-line UFOFacts group to canvass this sampling of Humanity on
such issues
as whether typical Humans would welcome Star Visitor
environmental
scientists to help remedy Earth’s environmental crisis. (They
would.) Star
Nations has also utilized the UFOFacts community to assess the
kind of
selfless hearts Humans could show for various issues, such as
working
together to exert joint psychic effort to liberate Star
Visitors being held
unjustly captive by the Cabal. The repeated showings of such
Human heart
has convinced Star Nations to aid all Humans in his time of
global crisis,
despite the many Cabal shootings-down of starcraft and
torturing of Star
Visitors taken captive.)
After an intensive period where Councillor Asheoma educated
and briefed the
Councillor of Earth on Star Nations lore which the Councillor
of Earth had
not remembered in this incarnation, it was time to hold a
Formal Hearing on
the long train of crimes by the Cabal in violation of the11
Universal Laws
and the 11 Spiritual Laws of the cosmos.
www.drboylan. com/11.11laws. html
The Councillor of Earth was joined by other Star Nations
Councillors, as
well as by a Human representative of Earth, and a Human
representative for
Star Nations. The Formal hearing resulted in conviction of the
Cabal for
wholesale crimes in violation of basic principles and values.
As a result
Star Nations subsequently has refused to include then in any
Human
communications, and now considers Cabal members a deviant
sub-variant of
the Human species.
The Hearing over, it was time to move on with other parts of
Councillor of
Earth’s responsibilities. My responsibilities include both
representation
and communication. .
The Councillor of Earth represents Humankind and all Earth
officially to
Star Nations for matters of policy development by its High
Council as
concerns Earth. And I represent Star Nations to the people of
Earth in
official matters.
Also, the Councillor of Earth serves as the official
communication pathway
to bring overall Earth policy issues to Star Nations High
Council; and to
communicate decisions and information from Star Nations to
Humans as they
affect us and Earth.
The Councillor of Earth has a responsibility to communicate
Star Nations
policy decisions and plans as widely as possible to the people
of Earth.
The Internet helps greatly in worldwide dissemination of such
Star Nations
information, policy decisions and action plans. And yet right
now, the
Cabal's choke-hold on the media prevents the kind of ready and
truly
comprehensive sharing of the information which world society
has a right to
know. But things are changing.
One of the Councillor of/for Earth’s current responsibilities
is to make
preparations for the 2008 arrival of a delegation of 12 top
environmental
scientists from the planet Altimar, coming here to help us
with Earth’s
environmental crisis. I am engaged in doing that.
However, in many of these efforts I do not operate alone.
There is an Inner
Team of close associates who have been working with me behind
the scenes to
thwart the enemies of Humankind. These Inner Team individuals
and I have a
close relationship with Star Nations, including formal
on-going dialogue
and coordination with members of Star Nations’ High Council.
Each Team
member brings their own skills and strengths.
In addition, our efforts to start to disassemble elements of
the Cabal’s
power structure in turn have been immeasurably aided by the
direct actions
of a self-effacing, eminent former-NSA Special Forces officer,
Colonel
"Shadow"(name suppressed for safety) and his superb
counter-insurgency team
(CIT), as well as by certain "White Hats" officials and elite
warriors in
CIA, NSA and the Department of Interstellar Immigration.
The combination of Inner Team remote-viewers, general
community
good-hearted Humans psychically working with us, and of
Colonel Shadow and
his CIT, has resulted in such successes as the liberation of
Star Visitors
being held and tortured at: Naval Weapons Station Charleston,
SC; in
confinement areas under the Pentagon, at an underground U.S.
installation
in Iceland, at an undeclared installation in DeBaca County,
New Mexico,
under Edwards Air Force Base, California, and from a secret
military
complex in the greater Colorado Springs, CO region.
Additionally, we
together effected the return of three enormous Space Beacons
stolen by the
Cabal from the Beacons’ original and proper navigational-
orienting
positions in space.
The Mission of the 12 Scientists From Altimar Coming To Earth
Soon
On June 7, 2007, Star Nations announced that, in response to
Humans
declaring they welcome Star Visitors coming among us, that
they had decided
that the best way to respond to that welcome is to start by
sending a small
contingent of a dozen Star Visitors.
These individuals are from a planet they call Altimar, which
orbits a red
dwarf star in the general neighborhood of Barnard's Star
general
neighborhood. Barnard’s Star is approximately between 6 and 7
light years
from Earth.
These twelve scientists want to come to Earth to help with the
restoration
of the environment. They are all highly-advanced environmental
scientists.
Each are leaders in their fields, having equivalents of an
Earth
Ph.D.-level expertise in their environmental specialty area.
While on
Earth, they will help by working with our very top (non-Cabal)
scientists
and environmental officials. They will teach our scientists,
and show them
advanced technology they will use to help clean up Earth
faster than we can
do it on our own without such advanced environmental knowledge
and
equipment. And work collaboratively with them.
These Altimarians are hybrids, having the basic Altimarian
genome, but have
volunteered to have enough Human genes spliced in to give them
lungs and
other attributes that make them able to come to Earth without
needing
artificial aids to adapt to our atmosphere and gravity. But,
since our Sun
is brighter than their star, to protect from excessive solar
radiation they
will spend most of their time indoors, or work at night and
sleep during
the day. (For more details, see:
.com/cosmiccompa ny.html>www.drboylan.
com/cosmiccompan y.html
).
By the way, they see the legitimate governing authority of
Earth as vested
in the people, not the government officials who think they
rule over us,
rather than serve the people.
They have chosen Human names for ease of communication. Two
are Technology
Specialists. Chris & Oman work with negating the damage of
technologies
which are oppressive to the environment and living beings. And
they utilize
technologies which do not require equipment. They also work
with the
electromagnetic fields of Gaia/Earth Being.
Three are Botanical Specialists. Fred-1 works with the green
lifeforms in
their above-water habitats. Alvin & Luke work with the green
lifeforms
beneath the water: one with those living in fresh water
environments and
the other with those in salt/saline eco-zones.
Mada is an Energy Cleanup specialist, a woman who uses skills
somewhat
analogous to Human psychotherapeutics and homeopathic healing.
She is the
one who works with energy systems that have been thrown out of
synchronization. And she utilizes the healing techniques of
psychology and
homeopathy to negate various energy patterns which are not
conducive to
healing.
Four are Environmental Specialists, each with sub-specialties.
Fred-2 (he
also likes the name Fred) works with the environment of fire
in all its
forms. Sam works with both fresh and saline water. Alfred
specializes in
the atmosphere. Tom works with Gaia/Mother Earth, and in
remedying any
disturbances in Earth. These folks actually merge with the
element that
they are working with to balance out that element molecularly.
While these
Environmental Specialists have a sense of humor, they take
their work very
seriously.
