Less Gets More
By Keitan
In America, we were all brought up to try and reach a certain
dream. For many, the dream was to have a house in a nice
neighborhood, a couple of kids playing in the yard, a nice car
or two, and maybe even a dog. But the beautiful thing about
America is that it is the dream that is important. Be what you
want to be. The only thing you need to do is to work hard for
what you want. But the dream became tainted with illusions of
capital riches and material wealth, so while we all strove for
these elusive goals, we all started working harder to reach a
target where the bar was always raised higher and higher by the
rules of competition. 'Get more to be better!' 'Your status
depends on what you can show on the outside!' The American Pie
turned sour as we all tried to take the biggest piece that we
could before someone better or faster than us reached out and
took a piece of it while we were resting. The result was that we
lost our souls. We earned less of the true value of life while
we were busy filling our garages with things we never had time
to use. Worst of all, we lost the most precious thing of all;
i.e. the time we needed to spend with our loved ones. Now we are
reaping what we have collectively sowed. We are all living in
the midst of chaos, trying to make sense of it all.
What the world today needs is a solution. But even though the
solution may be as easy as a new way of thinking, the old way of
'getting as much as you can' has been in process for centuries
and is implanted in our brains. But the silver lining of current
events is that we are all caught up in a time of radical change.
We see that the old ways of thinking no longer work. Some of us
have seen the end of the road and are trying to collect as much
as possible at the expense of others. But some of us have seen
the transition taking place and have already tried to start
learning to live with fewer things to have a fuller life with
the things that we already have. The transition isn't over, but
the hidden guiding energies are now in the favor of those who
look to share the resources of the earth, rather than with those
who still want to instill false hopes and empty dreams.
To help the transition take place, we must be patient with
those who still don't get it. Being an example and no longer
running so fast in the rat race is one of the most powerful
tools we have as individuals. We must be firm in our convictions
to see a better world where having fewer things means having
more value in the constructive things of life like love,
relationships, honesty and forgiveness. And we must be faithful
to keep our minds balanced in these chaotic times where it is so
easy to decide to try and 'go out with a bang' or 'live life to
its fullest'. The forces of change are shifting. Those who don't
transition well will get lost in the shuffle. Those who balance
their energies will be dealt a new hand filled with peace and
sustainable prosperity. Put your investment now in spreading
seeds of love, for this type of seed can heal the all the soils
of the earth. Namaste! Keitan
