Humor of the Week
*****************
A lawyer guy and a blond gal happen to be sitting next to each other on a
long flight from L.A. to New York. The lawyer leans over to her and asks
if she would like to play a fun game. The blond is tired and just wants
to take a nap, so she politely declines and rolls over to the window to
catch a few winks.

The lawyer persists, saying that the game is really easy and a lot of
fun. He explains how the game works . . " I ask you a question, and if
you don't know the answer, you pay me, and vice-versa."

Again the blond politely declines and tries to get some sleep. The lawyer
figures he's pretty smart and since his opponent is a blond he will
easily win the match, so he makes another offer. "Okay, how about this?
If you don't know the answer you pay me only $5, but if I don't know the
answer, I will pay you $500."

This catches the blonde's attention and, figuring that there will be no
end to this torment unless she plays, she agrees to play the game.

The lawyer asks the first question.
"What's the distance from the earth to the moon ?"

The blond doesn't say a word, reaches in to her purse, pulls out a
five-dollar bill, and hands it to the lawyer.

Now, it's the blonde's turn. She asks the lawyer . . "What goes up a
hill with three legs, and comes down with four?" The lawyer looks at her
with a puzzled look. He takes out his laptop computer and searches all
his references. He taps into the Air-phone with his modem and searches
the Internet and even the Library of Congress. Frustrated he sends E-
mails to all his coworkers and friends he knows. All to no avail. After
over an hour of searching for the answer he finally gives up.

He wakes the blond and hands her $500. The blond politely takes the $500
and turns away to get back to sleep. The lawyer, who can't believe he's
been outsmarted by a blond, is going nuts trying to figure it out.

He's more than a little frustrated! He wakes the blond again and asks.
"Well, so what goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four?"

So the blond reaches into her purse, hands the lawyer $5, and goes back
to sleep.

Greetings my Beloved Sisters and Brothers, and welcome once again to the
Church that is Within.

Having a little difficulty deciding upon a theme for Today´s Service,
this morning I decided to reach into my bag of "Angel Stones" to see what
message they might have to offer. As it so happened, the stone that my
fingers felt like they were drawn to and that I pulled out of the bag had
on it the symbol of a heart---Angel Stone #17 - The Love Stone...

Go figure...

The topic of today´s Sunday Service, #502, is Love...

(From: The Angel Stones Oracle (©1999-CWI) - #17 Love/The
Heart/Emotions)
The Soul approaches confrontation quite differently than ego does. It
uses Self-Respect, Non-Attachment, and Love. Soul respects its own path
and also the path of others. It does not fear change, but embraces it
for what it has to offer, and therefore it has no particular expectations
to fulfill. Always does Soul approach confrontation Lovingly.

(From: Hadewijch of Antwerp)
May your service of love a beautiful thing; want nothing else, fear
nothing else and let love be free to become what love truly is.

(From: Karen Sunde)
To love is to receive a glimpse of heaven.

(From: The Urantia Papers - Paper-139 Section-4)
"My little children, love one another."

(From: Francois de La Rochefoucauld (1613 - 1680)
The pleasure of love is in loving.

(From: The Urantia Papers - Paper-156 Section-5)
The measure of the spiritual capacity of the evolving soul is your faith
in truth and your love for man, but the measure of your human strength of
character is your ability to resist the holding of grudges and your
capacity to withstand brooding in the face of deep sorrow. Defeat is the
true mirror in which you may honestly view your real self.

(From: Emmet Fox )
There is no difficulty that enough love will not conquer; no disease that
enough love will not heal; no door that enough love will not open.

(From: The Buddha )
The thought manifests as the word; The word manifests as the deed; The
deed develops into habit; And habit hardens into character. So watch the
thought and its ways with care, And let it spring from love Born out of
concern for all beings.

(From: Carl Jung (1875 - 1961)
Where love rules, there is no will to power, and where power
predominates, love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other.

(From: Ice T, The Ice Opinion)
Passion makes the world go round. Love just makes it a safer place.

(From: The RSV Bible - John I 4:20-21)
If any one says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for
he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom
he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him, that he who
loves God should love his brother also.

(From: Henry David Thoreau (1817 - 1862)
There is no remedy for love but to love more.

(From: Anton Chekhov (1860 - 1904)
Perhaps the feelings that we experience when we are in love represent a
normal state. Being in love shows a person who he should be.

(From: Roy Croft)
I love you, not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with
you.

(From: The RSV Bible - John I 4:11-13)
Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No man
has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love
is perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us,
because he has given us of his own Spirit.

(From: The Urantia Papers - Paper-146 Section-3)
"While you cannot observe the divine spirit at work in your minds, there
is a practical method of discovering the degree to which you have yielded
the control of your soul powers to the teaching and guidance of this
indwelling spirit of the heavenly Father, and that is the degree of your
love for your fellow men. This spirit of the Father partakes of the love
of the Father, and as it dominates man, it unfailingly leads in the
directions of divine worship and loving regard for one's fellows.

(From: Gandhi (1869 - 1948)
Where there is love there is life.

(From: Antoine de Saint-Exupery (1900 - 1944eck)
Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other,
but in looking outward together in the same direction.

(From: Nat King Cole (1919 - 1965)
The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in
return.

(From: Og Mandino )
Treasure the love you have received above all. It will survive long after
your gold and good health have vanished.

(From: The Angel Stones Oracle (©1999-CWI) - #17 Love/The
Heart/Emotions)
Love, and experience God. Love, and experience People. Love, and
experience Life. Give, and you shall receive. Seek, and you shall find.
Let Love liberally pour out from you, and it will continually be freely
poured into you. Love... ever Recycle it.

Love is the fuel...
Love is the road...

Now is where we Create the Exquisite Memories
of Tomorrow. [Angelbumps '98]

"Belief... is talking the talk. Faith... is Walking
the Walk. Take a Walk..." ("Celestial Lites" '97)

("The Urantia Papers" Paper-132 Section-7)
"If we know God, our real business on earth is so to live
as to permit the Father to reveal himself in our lives,
and thus will all God-seeking persons see the Father
and ask for our help in finding out more about the God
who in this manner finds expression in our lives."
