Grandmother as a Bride

This flawless face is that of my client’s maternal grandmother, taken from a black and white photograph taken around 1918 when the woman was approximately 16 years of age. It was a cultural privilege to paint her long curls, that absurdly large white bow, and her nobility of spirit. (24” x 30”)
